Media Conversion
LIGHTSPAN is a ruggedised fibre to Ethernet media convertor for interference-free network data transmission over long distances where power is available at both ends of the connection.
Optional Format
LIGHTSPAN SC100 devices are available in two formats - a slimline format for stand-alone mounting or rackmounting and in a "backbox" format for fitting inside camera backbox housings.
Distance & Bandwidth
The LIGHTSPAN series is currently for low-cost multimode fibre with SC100 connections using 1310nm wavelength, delivering 100Base-FX data rates up to 2,000m (at 100Mbps)
Multichannel Options
The slimline format LIGHTSPAN devices allow the assembly of multi-channel rackmounted solutions using the Veracity 1U mounting plate (also used for LONGSPAN). Up to 24 devices can be fitted in 1U.
