Nottinghamshire Police Tackle Anti Social Behaviour

Veracity's cutting-edge, remote CCTV encrypted transmission and recording module, LINKLOCK Mobile and VIEWSCAPE Core, video management software, are deployed in the new Nottinghamshire Police surveillance vehicle. The system enables personnel to view, record, and control the vehicle's extensive camera viewing capability, overtly or covertly monitoring key locations within the city to deter unruly behaviour.

One of the elements of LINKLOCK Mobile that the police found key is its capability to connect with any third-party transmission device to allow remote encrypted transmission of the live and also recorded images from the vehicle back to their control room. This technology allows any incident to be reviewed and actioned by senior police staff.

It will be deployed in areas identified by local residents, that have a significant or emerging Anti Social Behaviour problem.

Primarily, the CCTV vehicle is designed to improve resident safety by acting as a deterrent and capturing real-time evidence.

Areas like town centres and recreation grounds, where there have been reports of anti-social behaviour, including safety fears at night, will benefit from the vehicle.

It has a state-of-the-art 360-degree dual-view camera system, which has the capacity to view an entire area, zoom in directly on a potential incident, identify any potential threats or capture the direction that offenders leave a scene. The camera also has a telescopic mast, which can extend to a height of over three metres.

The CCTV footage can be viewed remotely from the Police force's control room, allowing real-time information to be passed on to officers if necessary.

Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Ferguson, who got the project off the ground, said: “One of the biggest concerns for our residents is anti-social behaviour”. That’s why we are committed to sorting this problem out.”
