City Centres
"City Centres are large public spaces and can be both complex and expensive to monitor. Without any situational awareness, they cannot be managed properly or safely. Video surveillance plays the dominant role in providing such situational awareness, being observed (and recorded) in control rooms. Surveillance can be coupled with traffic analysis systems, public transport management, IoT sensors (for air quality for example) and with links to emergency services for incident response.
Control rooms usually have direct links to emergency services for incident coordination and response. Incident management functions are a crucial part of any command & control system used in city centre surveillance. Due to rising costs and the need for more efficient use of resources, many towns and even smaller cities are moving the management of their CCTV systems to larger, purpose-built control centres which have more staff, better trained operators, improved facilities and which also operate 24/7.
Veracity's VIEWSCAPE integrated security management system has been developed over many years to meet these requirements. Alongside full integration with VIEWSPAN video display wall controllers and COLDSTORE video recording and storage systems, VIEWSCAPE offers video management, incident management, mapping, alarm monitoring and integration with intercom, access control, ANPR, traffic systems, video analytics and of course hundreds of different third-party VMS and camera systems."
